Sewaka Lobby
Joglo Purwodadi – Demak
Sasana Sewaka which is the main lobby was assemble about 181-years old ago in 1830 called Joglo Demak. It was transferred from the village of Jamus Krajan, District of Mranggen, Demak and took 1 year to rebuild it back at the resort area. The Joglo which size is 16m x 16m has many uniqueness in its form, such as its wooden beam along the 16m without a connection, Soko Guru (stanchion building) has a bottom width of 21cm and a width of 25cm, as well as its pillar crane where it is wider than the bottom. It was told that the pillars were made from the same single teak tree, the joglo came with a large living area and it is still looks stout and sturdy. We also called the four main pillars as “Satrio Pinayungan” which means The Guardian Knights.This Joglo has become the main attraction at Balemong Resort with finely delicate artful handcrafted gebyok at the reception counter.
THE RESORT
Balemong Resort is located in Ungaran, Central Java where the ambiance is unspoiled, fresh and calming. The Resort sits 10 km from Mount of Ungaran, poised in a land of 5 hectares and holds a unique and traditional concept of the old Javanese in its Colonial time; where the architectural and interior design is engage the Javanese, Chinese and Dutch culture.
The key difference of Balemong Resort in comparison to other resorts within Semarang is the villas that replicate the traditional Javanese’s houses, particularly those from Central Java where house such as the “Joglo Pesisiran” and “Joglo Solo” was kept in its original heritage style and some of the houses was originally transferred from a few city and district in central Java almost more than 100 years old to 300 years old.
Balemong Resort’s purpose is to maintain the original Javanese characteristics where historical relic and artifacts of the culture become the symbol of the resort. Our aim is to make the resort as a place where patrons can learn of the Javanese heritage and history beside as their holiday destination.
